The Mexican Economy Secretariat imposed a definitive antidumping duty of 49 cents/kg on imports of wire rod from China, the Secretariat said Thursday.
Domestic producers ArcelorMittal, Ternium and Deacero were the petitioners of the AD investigation, which started in September 2015.
The probe is valid for all products imported under HS codes 7213.10.01, 7213.20.01, 7213.91.01, 7213.91.02, 7213.99.01, 7213.99.99, 7227.10.01, 7227.20.01, 7227.90.01 and 7227.90.99, the Secretariat said in Mexicos official gazette.
The investigation period was April 2014 to March 2015 and the damage analysis period was from April 2012 to March 2015, it said.
"The results of the investigation indicated that the domestic industry faced a vulnerable condition, forced to decrease its selling price to the domestic market to compete with the imported products under investigation, which resulted in negative performance during the period under review," the Secretariat said.
